Thanks to our flexible structure, we are able to take on everything from small-scale productions to large-scale international campaigns and multi-day shoots. Our experience across a wide variety of projects ensures that we take care of and devote our full attention to every project, whether large or small.

– Although we’re based in Barcelona, we work throughout Spain and can handle a production in any region of the country. We’re well acquainted with the territorial and administrative specifics of each autonomous community, so we can source local crew, equipment and a range of locations in every corner of Spain. We have experience filming in almost every part of the country.

– The sooner the better, especially if the shoot involves public locations, road closures, drones, international talent, underage actors or multiple approval bodies. As a general rule of thumb, in Spain it’s advisable to start applying for permits at least 15 working days in advance for shoots on public roads involving significant disruption; although in some straightforward cases with a general permit, this can be processed in as little as 24 hours. Fortunately, we’re very quick to get projects off the ground and can set all the administrative procedures in motion shortly after receiving an assignment.

– We’re comfortable with both approaches. Some production companies need us as a full-service partner, covering a broader scope, whilst others simply want a reliable local team to manage permits, crew, locations and production. We have extensive experience and can work openly with the agency or client, or remain completely in the background, whichever suits you best.

– Absolutely, and this is one of Spain’s great strengths. It is a geographically diverse country, yet relatively compact in size, meaning we can find a wide variety of landscapes just a few hours’ drive apart. With our strong network of location scouts and an extensive catalogue of locations, we can guarantee we’ll find the perfect backdrops, with all the necessary production logistics and permits already sorted.

– For us, sustainability is a key element of every production, and we always strive to ensure efficient filming, reducing our environmental impact across all departments. We always prioritise local suppliers, opt for low-emission vehicles, manage waste appropriately to encourage recycling, have sustainable action plans in place, and hire catering companies that minimise waste and use reusable materials. COLMADO has been a member of Green The Bid for many years, and we keep up to date with all the resources this environmental organisation publishes.

– We can do both. If you’d like to travel with your director, DOP, production manager or any other key crew member, we’ll build a local team around them. We have a strong network of professionals throughout Spain who meet international advertising standards. We’re particularly good at finding the right talent for each production – crew members with extensive experience in the type of projects we’re working on at any given time.

– Yes! We have an excellent network of drone operators registered with AESA (the Spanish aerospace agency) who are familiar with the flight restrictions in each area and can arrange the necessary permits to fly at short notice. We are able to operate in urban areas as well as in unpopulated areas and natural spaces. Please contact us for further information.

– Yes, no problem. We are a company based in Spain, so we can register talent and the technical crew as employees, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements, including health and safety, Social Security and employment contracts. We can also manage and invoice image rights for talent, photographers, voice-over artists, etc., ourselves.

– We take the safety and legal cover of all our productions very seriously, which is why we approach this with due diligence right from pre-production, rather than treating it as a mere formality to be ticked off at the end. We always have comprehensive third-party liability insurance in place that covers us for any shoot within the country. We then always carry out a health and safety risk assessment for the entire crew. Furthermore, we always register the entire crew with Social Security and arrange any permits, insurance or contracts required for the specific circumstances of each shoot.

– Yes, if you need us to. Some production companies only ask us to provide services up to wrap, whilst many others rely on us right through to final delivery, entrusting us with the post-production process. And we’re very used to this, as in all our own commercial productions we handle every stage, from pre-production through to post-production, so we’re well acquainted with the processes involved after filming.
